When Allie and I started this blog we were two bored 15 year olds looking for an outlet to a boring summer apart. I feel like I'm almost back there. So much has changed in the past two years, as I expect life should change. I got my first job, I did an internship in New York City, I moved across the country two times, I moved in with my dad, I learned. But I suppose I am back to that semi-monotonous routine that summer can sometimes create: "I guess I should be studying, I guess I should start my college applications, I guess I should be thinking about financial aid, I guess..." It's a bit pathetic.
So, here I am. I've been having a sweet summer, I guess. There's a lot of guessing going on lately. I've been reading. I, as aforementioned, completed an internship in New York. It was amazing! It was probably the best decision I have made in a long time. I got to meet so many cultured, talented, and well-rounded people. They were so welcoming and passionate. It was quite inspirational.
In addition, I've been able to spend some quality time with my younger sister. We only have seen each other during the summer for the past few years, and most of the time it was awkward. But now it's great! And I'm so glad we get to live together.
I moved away from Texas, where my family decided to move to while I was in the middle of high school. It was extremely upsetting. I dealt with my junior year, and actually made some pretty good friends, but I wasn't really happy. Moving away from my mom was the hardest part, I think. She was very hurt by my decision to leave and I was very hurt that I had to make the decision. I just came to the conclusion that sometimes you have to put your best interest first in order to get to where you want to be in life, regardless of the sacrifices you have to make as a result.
Now I'm moving forward, I think. I'm a bit nervous for senior year in my third high school, but I think it will be okay. Perhaps I will be back soon, perhaps.. not.
